A WALK IN THE WOODS

Directed by: Richard Alan Woody
Produced by: Gina Yates
Cast: Larry Eisenberg & Fox Carney

A WALK IN THE WOODS is the story of an impossible friendship, one that grows between an earnest young American nuclear arms negotiator and his more cynical Soviet counterpart during their private walks in the hills above Geneva, Switzerland. It is also the story of two nations attempting to avert a nuclear holocaust in spite of the political and economic forces that seem to be pushing them relentlessly toward it.

During his State of the Union speech, President Obama noted that the United States and Russia just signed their most extensive nuclear arms reduction treaty in over 20 years. He was referencing the SALT II conferences that are the background for "A Walk in the Woods."

Intelligent, funny, and fascinating - - A WALK IN THE WOODS was nominated for the Tony Award, the Pulitzer Prize and the Olivier Award.

What critics have said:

"...a work of passion and power with the ring of political truth. It is not only the best of the few dramas to reach Broadway this season, it is also the funniest comedy." - - New York Times

"A splendid evening of theatre..." - - New York Daily News

"A work of passion and power with the ring of political truth." - - Time Magazine

"A minor miracle" - - New York Magazine
