Casey Murray
Casey Murray (she/her/hers) is an actor, singer, dancer, and teacher (specializing in teaching spin cycling, dance, and mindfulness). Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts at California State University, Long Beach in the Spring of 2023 with a minor in Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies. She is trained in Meisner, Chekhov, Uta Hagen, and Stanislavski techniques, and has studied clowning as well as contact improvisation.
Casey had fallen in love with acting since her first play in the first grade, and she has continued to take part in theatre ever since. Casey began classical vocal training with Christina Saffran by age twelve and was simultaneously being trained in ballet and contemporary at Revolution Dance Center and The Vault Dance Studio. She continued her study of theatre at Crescenta Valley High School, having the opportunity to perform in many musicals, plays, and short films, including working alongside the wonderful Kay Cole.
Some of her recent theatre/musical theatre credits include but are not limited to, Reba in Dryland at the Studio Theatre in Long Beach, CB’s Sister in Dog Sees God at the Players Theatre in Long Beach, Narrator/Phantom in The Rocky Horror Show for CalRep in Long Beach, and #14 in The Wolves at the Studio Theatre.
Casey also takes pride in teaching others what she loves, as she enjoys teaching dance, spin cycling, and mindfulness on the side of her art. She hopes to continue teaching others the beauty of these subjects. As for what she wants to do with her art, she hopes to lead the film and theatre industry in a more positive and nourishing direction regarding women, women’s bodies being portrayed, and more of a talk and portrayal of intersectionality. She also wants to incorporate movement and dance into her art and explore body work through theatre. She hopes to be a strong role model for women in the industry and to continue being her true self in whatever she does.
