Dani Thompson
Dani grew up in London, U.K. With an abundance of creative energy, she was led to the performing arts at an early age. Ballet at three, classical piano at six and voice/speech at LAMDA. After playing the Wicked Queen in Snow White at aged 8, she was hooked.
At 17, Dani won the first County Major Award for drama and a coveted scholarship to the prestigious East 15 Acting School. After two years there, Dani joined the British Repertory Theatre. She was the leading lady in more than seventy-five plays and musicals and starred in national tours of Camelot, Two for the Seesaw, Stop the World I Want to Get Off and Come Blow Your Horn.
Coming to the U.S. Dani first landed in Hawaii. Modeling sessions, roles in “Hawaii Five-O” etc. and studying jazz with the late Ernie Washington, fronting a big band and singing at jazz and service clubs.
Coming to California, Dani has continued her acting career in theatre, television and film, with some favorite roles such as Mrs. Venable in Tennesee Williams’ Suddenly Last Summer, Mrs. Erlynne in Oscar Wilde’s Lady Windermere’s Fan at Long Beach Playhouseand in Mary Barnes at the Odyssey Theatre (a 7 month run).
Dani is also a voice-over artist and can be heard in commercials and CDRoms. Her CD “Like a Woman” is played on jazz stations worldwide.
Dani’s passion for the theatre has always been paramount and she is delighted to be a part of The Group Rep. She was most recently seen on the GRT stage as Lady Angkatell in Agatha Christie’s Murder After Hours.
