Helen O'Brien

Helen trained at Los Angeles City Theatre Academy before becoming a decade-long member of the Colony Theatre Company where she appeared in shows such as Guys and Dolls, Role Play, Uncommon Women and Others. She also performed in numerous plays for Burbank United Methodist Players such as Harvey, City Slicker and Nell. Helen has played roles other than performer, as well. At the Group Rep, Helen was seen in the role of Sue Bayliss in All My Sons and in the 4th Annual Nine Winning One Acts in Wine & Squeeze.In addition, Helen has directed many pieces for GRT’s One Act Festival, 9 Winning One Acts, including Road Side Alice, Blue Bench, Suspension and Cheesy Christmas. Most recently Helen directed Stuck in the Middle With for GRT’s outdoor production of Motel 66.

Helen taught children’s acting classes at Dance Biz Studios for five years and was a casting coordinator for Full Moon Entertainment for many years. She continues to work behind-the-scenes as one of the producers for Theatre Taste, an event where audiences are introduced to new, original plays while enjoying themed dishes and drinks. Helen is excited to be a company member of GRT and looks forward to working with her fellow actors!
