Carol Kaufman

Carol Kaufman

Carol is absolutely thrilled to be a new member of the Group Rep Theater!

She started her acting career on the boards opposite Robert Forster in Clifford Odet’s The Big Knife at the Stella Adler Theater and subsequently had a run of leading roles at The West Coast Ensemble where her love of theater was born and her performance as Catherine Holly in Suddenly Last Summer received rave reviews and attracted the attention of her first manager.   Most recently she played Carol Steiner in the west coast premier of Tru$t, written and directed by Tom Seidman, as part of the 2025 Fringe Festival in Hollywood.  Tru$t was well received and garnered stellar reviews and is currently in pre-production to be filmed as a SAG feature where she will reprise her role as the wealthy mom of a young man who brings home an inscrutable stranger for the weekend.  She was a member of the Playwrights Kitchen Ensemble, an iconic company of writers & actors formed by Dan Lauria, at the Coronet Theater and performed in staged readings with actors including Dan Lauria, Ray Abruzzo, George Segal, Gary Cole, Carol Kane, Rebecca DeMornay, Lou Diamond Phillips, Nancy Travis, Lorraine Newman, Pamela Reed, etc.

Television and Film with roles include “Unsolved Mysteries” and “Any Day Now” with Annie Potts and Lorraine Toussaint.  She’s currently streaming in “Nanny Dearest” a Lifetime movie on Prime, and “Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction XF.”  Other recent films include “Meteor Moon,” “Killer Grades” and “REM.”

She loves taking various acting classes to keep those muscles flexed including improv, stand up, audition technique, etc. and has participated in the Collaboration Filmmakers Challenge, having been nominated for best actress in both comedic and dramatic roles, and the Short & Sweet Play Festival every year since 2019.  Look for her as The Queen in the soon to be airing Purple Mattress commercial “The Princess and The Pea.”
