George Bufford
George Bufford has played a wide range of characters during his career, which began in his home state of Michigan.
Earlier roles include Finch in How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, Snoopy in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Charlie Brown in a subsequent production of that show, and Matt in three different productions of The Fantasticks.
Later roles include Macheath in The Threepenny Opera, Littlechap in Stop the World-I Want to Get Off, Condomine in Blithe Spirit and Birdboot in The Real Inspector Hound.
He was an Artist-Intern at Michigan Opera Theater (now Detroit Opera), and played Dr. Blind in Die Fledermaus.
Most recently, he has played Clarence in It’s a Wonderful Life, adult Ralph in A Christmas Story and Major General Stanley in The Pirates of Penance.
On the GRT stage, George was recently seen as Preacher Benjamin Cox in The Orphan’s Revenge.
George is a U.S. Navy veteran, and saw service in Vietnam. He also holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music form Eastern Michigan University. Most importantly, he is husband to Nancy, father to Liz, as well as a grandfather and great-grandfather.
