
Keith Szarabajka
Keith Szarabajka (sarah-bike-ah) works on stage, in audio books, video games, film, radio and tv. He directed EST-LA’s production of David McMillan’s much-acclaimed Watching O.J. in 2015-16, his own dark comedy Nessun Dorma in 2016, and Tony Pasqualini’s Lost in Time in 2018. His other one act dark comedy, The Second Coming was produced at EST-LA’s One Act Festival in 2018, and was subsequently made into a short film in 2020, which is currently garnering awards at film festivals around the world. Keith conceived, co-wrote, co-directed and co-produced EST-LA’s space soap opera spoof, In Search of doG, and its web series sequel “In Search of A-P-I-G,” which has garnered a number of awards at film festivals the last few years (2022-25).
FILM (Acting): “The Dark Knight,” “Argo” (2012 SAG AFTRA Best Ensemble award), “A Perfect World” and “Missing” among others.
TV: Recurring or Regular roles: “Angel,” “Supernatural,” “Cold Case,” “Profit” and “The Equalizer” (1985-89). He won the Audie 2002 award for Fiction Unabridged for “Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates” by Tom Robbins and has won a number of Earphone awards for audiobook narration.
Keith was co-author and in the original cast of Bleacher Bums. He was Ensemble Studio Theatre / The Los Angeles Project’s co-artistic director from January 2015-June 2021, overseeing the creation, development and production of new American plays there. He has been a member of The Organic Theater Company of Chicago 1972-78, Manhattan Class Company 1987-1993, and EST/LA 2010-present.
He just started his own 501.c.3 , The Playwrights Unit in Los Angeles this last year, and looks forward to creating and producing more new American plays and films. His most recent project, Slava Ukrani! Or Waiting for Elon, was a semi-finalist at the Eugene O’Neill National Playwrights Conference.
Keith has two grown sons, both of whom work in tv and film production in L.A.
